Yorkshire now has the two highest totals in English T20 history.
Yorkshire produced a terrific batting performance on Tuesday, 23rd July, as the Vikings registered the second-highest ever total in England's domestic T20 history in the process of their 54-run victory over Leicestershire in a Vitality T20 Blast clash here.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore led the Vikings from the front with his blistering 96 not out while adding century partnerships with Adam Lyth (69 off 35) and Nicholas Pooran (67 off 28) to help his team to post 255 for 2.
Having fallen just six runs of beating their own highest T20 Blast total of 260 against the Northamptonshire at Emerald Headingley in 2017, Yorkshire are now the holders of the two highest totals in the English T20 history with their latest superlative batting display against the Leicestershire.
Yorkshire was also very close to shattering the record of most number of sixes in a match in the tournament set by Essex against Surrey only last week, falling just one short of the record 20 sixes.
Meanwhile, in reply, Leicestershire had a great start and even managed to keep up with the run rate, but eventually, finished with 201-4 despite Lewis Hill's 49 not out from 28 balls.
The enthralling contest between Yorkshire and Leicestershire witnessed 31 sixes being hit – which also set a joint English record for the most sixes in a match, as they equaled Essex and Surrey’s mark set in a run-fest last week in the T20 event.
