The intense verbal altercation unfolded during the nail-biting final stages of Pakistan's successful run chase.
Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf and England all-rounder Will Jacks engaged in a heated on-field spat during the fourth match of the ODI tri-series in Lahore on Sunday (October 25).
The intense verbal altercation unfolded during the nail-biting final stages of Pakistan's successful run chase against England at the Gaddafi Stadium.
On the final delivery of the 46th over, England all-rounder Sam Curran delivered a sharp, high bouncer to Shadab Khan, who was batting on 99. The ball flew high over Shadab, who looked to the square-leg umpire expecting a wide signal. However, the umpire denied the call, ruling it a legal delivery.
While Shadab was appealing the decision, Rauf, standing at the non-striker's end, exchanged heated words with Jacks, who was fielding nearby at short mid-wicket. Rauf visibly lost his temper, pointing his bat toward Jacks and aggressively charging in his direction.
The confrontation escalated quickly, prompting the on-field umpire to step between the two players. Senior England batter Joe Root quickly rushed in to pull Rauf away and play the role of peacemaker, successfully diffusing the tense tension.

Coming to the match, Pakistan collapsed to 154/9 while chasing a target of 242 runs. However, Shadab and Rauf stitched together an unbeaten 89-run stand to take the hosts over the line. Rauf struck the winning boundary off Henry Crocombe to secure a dramatic one-wicket win.
Even after the final ball was bowled, tensions remained palpable as Haris Rauf and Will Jacks were seen exchanging words yet again during the traditional post-match handshakes.
