Pathan revealed that Pakistan media photoshopped his face on a face.
According to Pathan, "trolling and fake attribution" occur on a daily basis. He also claimed that he doesn't react to anything on social media because doing so with everyone would prevent them from living their own lives.
Pathan revealed that once, a report about Babar declining an interview with him was published in Pakistani media by morphing his face onto an image of someone else.
"The trolling and fake attribution happen every day. The media in our neighbouring country once ran a story claiming that I had gone to interview Babar Azam, and that he refused because, according to him, 'He trolls our country, so I won't give him an interview.' It was a complete lie. Someone had photoshopped my face onto a picture," Pathan said on JioHotstar's 'Cheeky Singles'.
"The person in the original image was a young Bangladeshi reporter who had gone to the ground for the first time and was refused an interview. They literally put my face on his body and spread the story. It got over a million views, and people believed it was me. This happens every day, but I don't respond. Every day, some lie is told in our name or about some player. If you keep responding to everyone, you won't be able to live your life," he added.
Babar Azam was recently named the Pakistan Test captain for the second time and managed to draw the 2-Test series in the West Indies.
On the other hand, Irfan Pathan has turned to commentary and media work after playing for India from 2003-2012. He was one of the finest all-rounders to play for India, but his career was impacted by frequent injuries.
