Ashleigh Gardner and Georgia Voll were part of Australia's Women's T20 World Cup 2026 winning team.
The accusations surfaced when a Daily Mail article claimed that Gardner cheated on her wife with a fellow cricket player, leading to the dissolution of her marriage. Wright later makes a direct claim on social media, even though the report does not name the person.
Now, according to another Daily Mail report, an unnamed source has stated that Gardner and Voll began a relationship while Australia was in India for the World Cup. Wright later travelled to India to support her wife, unaware of the alleged affair.
"Monica then visited to see her wife for the World Cup. It was a little bit weird. Monica sat next to Georgia at one point. She was being friendly, as she normally is. It felt like something was off with Ash, but we thought it was just the pressure of the World Cup,” the source said as per the Daily Mail report.
Gardner apparently sat Wright down after returning to Sydney and confessed to being unfaithful, but she didn't reveal Voll's identity until she was relentlessly pressed.
"When they got home, Ash said, 'Hey, look, can we talk?' She sat Monica down and said, 'I messed up'," the source alleged.
According to the story, Wright texted Voll later but never heard back. Wright was "distraught" and "shattered" by the alleged affair, especially since the couple had already started making plans to raise a family.
"They were about to go to the fertility clinic. They had a booking that Monica had to cancel," the insider said.
The article claims that Gardner left only one symbolic memory of their marriage when she moved out of their Sydney house following the breakup.
"Ash left one day. Monica came home, and everything of Ash's was gone except for the rings. She left the wedding rings in the cupboard. Just the box of wedding rings, and that was it,” the source said.
Georgia Voll and Ashleigh Gardner were part of the Australian team that won the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England.
