Several Indian team stars are participating in the ongoing Mumbai T20 League, which got underway on June 1, 2026.

Suryakumar Yadav (Triumph Knights Mumbai North East), Shreyas Iyer (SoBo Mumbai Falcons), Shivam Dube (ARCS Andheri), Sarfaraz Khan (Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs), Ajinkya Rahane (North Mumbai Panthers), Shardul Thakur (Eagle Thane Strikers), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (Bandra Blasters, are some of the major names participating in the ongoing tournament.

Notably, India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav’s poor form continued in this tournament as well. Yadav, who became India's T20I captain in 2024, has struggled with the bat ever since and had a very poor T20 World Cup 2026 as well, despite scoring a match-winning fifty in the first game against the USA.

His form continued in the Mumbai T20 League as well. The North Mumbai Panthers set a big target of 210 runs in Suryakumar’s first game of the season. Despite having a strong start, Suryakumar failed to turn it into a knock that would have given the Triumph Knights the victory.

The seasoned hitter smashed four boundaries before being removed for 19 runs off of just 11 balls. As the Triumph Knights were unable to chase down the Panthers' challenging total, he was dismissed as his team's third wicket after falling to spinner Rahul Sawant.

On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer, captain of SoBo Mumbai Falcons, managed only 5 runs in his team’s first game of the season. He was dismissed by ARCS Andheri captain Shivam Dube, who plays for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL.

In yesterday's match versus Andheri, Shreyas had trouble getting underway. Despite being the star captain and anchor, he was unable to score a single boundary. In addition to defeating Iyer, Dube took three wickets in all during the game.
