India A lost to Bangladesh A in the semi-final of the tournament in Super Over.
Maninder also slammed Sunil Joshi, the India A coach, for his blunder, as Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma both got out for ducks on the first ball, and Bangladesh A stormed into the final of the tournament.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has scored 38 in 15 balls as India made a meal of the 194-run chase and ended up tying the game in the end. Everyone was stunned when Sooryavanshi, the top scorer and highest six-hitter of the tournament, sat in the dressing room and didn’t come out to bat in the Super Over.
Maninder, visibly stunned during the commentary, questioned the decision-making in real-time.
“Still trying to think what the India A think tank was doing. Why didn’t they send Vaibhav Suryavanshi to bat in the Super Over? Sunil Joshi, the India A head coach—what is he writing now? The ship has already sailed," Maninder asked as the cameras panned to coach Sunil Joshi, who was making notes.
Bangladesh’s Ripon Mandal delivered a flawless super over, dismissing Jitesh and Ashutosh for ducks. Then, despite Suyash Sharma taking a wicket on the first ball, he delivered a close wide on the leg side, and Bangladesh A qualified for the final of the tournament.
It was a poor showing by India A, who also lost to Pakistan Shaheens in the group stage, in a one-sided affair.
