RCB will face PBKS in the IPL 2025 Final in Ahmedabad on June 3.
In all, RCB have played a total of three finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016 and have ended up on the losing side in each of the summit clashes. On Tuesday (June 2), they will have another opportunity to end their title drought.
The Bengaluru-based franchise will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
On the eve of the title clash, South African legend AB de Villiers shared a special message for his former RCB teammate and friend Virat Kohli.
“My message to Virat is to go out and enjoy and have fun out there. Put a smile on your face. I will be there watching you. Bring that (IPL) trophy home. Enjoy every minute of it,” de Villiers said in a video message shared by Star Sports on X.
He also shared a message for passionate RCB fans. “To the fans, just buckle up. It’s going to be a great final. It’s going to be one to remember, and just be sure that the boys will give their absolute best till the last ball."
De Villiers, who failed to win an IPL title during his illustrious career, is hoping to see Kohli win RCB’s maiden IPL trophy on Tuesday.
Kohli has been prolific for RCB in this year’s IPL. In 14 matches played so far, he has amassed 614 runs at a strike rate of 146.53, including eight half-centuries. He would like to produce a big show in the final as well.
RCB have defeated PBKS thrice in this year’s IPL, including in Qualifier 1. However, the final will be a different ball game altogether, and the Rajat Patidar-led side won’t take Punjab Kings lightly.
