Mumbai Indians have lost their first two matches in the ongoing IPL season.
The video, titled "Jo bhi hota hai, at the end of the day, you have to try to find a way to smile & be happy!", captures Rohit’s philosophy on resilience and moving forward, a hallmark of MI’s record success over the years.
In the clip, Rohit emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, irrespective of victories or defeats.
"Smile, everybody smile, whether we lose, whether we win, we have to smile, we have to smile," Rohit said.
He explained: "It's a very simple line, but it means a lot. Jo bhi hota hai, at the end of the day, you have to try to find a way to smile, be happy, and find peace with it. That’s why, in MI, we always talk about moving on — whether we win or lose — because life doesn’t end here. After every low, the sun rises again. You wake up and find a way to fight another day."
On Saturday (March 29), the five-time IPL champions suffered a comprehensive 36-run defeat against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Chasing 197 to win, Mumbai’s innings was restricted to just 160/6 in 20 overs despite the conditions being conducive to batting in the second innings.
This was MI’s second successive defeat in IPL 2025, and with 0 points from two matches played so far, they currently occupy the ninth spot in the 10-team points table.
MI’s next match is scheduled against defending champions KKR at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday (March 31).
