Former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel is likely to join Gujarat Titans' (GT) coaching setup as batting mentor for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.

According to a TOI report, sources close to developments reveal that Patel will join the support staff led by former India cricketer Ashish Nehra.

Patel replaces Gary Kirsten, who parted ways with GT to take up Pakistan's white-ball head coach role earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Vikram Solanki will remain associated with the Titans as Director of Cricket and was recently spotted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium for the Ranji Trophy fixture between Delhi and Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, Parthiv Patel had worked with Mumbai Indians (MI) as a talent scout, frequently attending domestic matches across India.

Parthiv made his India debut in 2002 and created a record by becoming the youngest wicketkeeper in Tests. He was just 17 years and 153 days old when he played his first game for India.

Patel represented India in 25 Tests, 38 ODIs and 2 T20Is. In domestic cricket, he played for Gujarat in 194 first-class matches.

His IPL stint was marked by multiple franchise changes. He started off with Chennai Super Kings (2008-2010) and then went on to represent the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Deccan Chargers (2012), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (2012).

Patel then briefly joined RCB (2014) before donning Mumbai Indians' jersey from 2015 to 2017. He finished his IPL career with RCB four years ago after rejoining the franchise in 2018.
