Virat Kohli is leading the chart of top run-scorers in the ongoing IPL season.
After reaching the landmark, Rossouw held his bat like a gun and trailed it towards the PBKS dressing room. When the southpaw was dismissed for 61 off 27 balls, Kohli mimicked his celebration and gave him a send-off.
Despite the RCB’s star’s act, Rossouw has no ill feelings towards Virat Kohli. In fact, the South African cricketer expressed his admiration for Kohli’s unparalleled genius as a batter.
In an exclusive chat with Sportstar, Rossouw was asked how demanding T20 cricket is in modern days and he namedropped Kohli while giving the answer.
“I think it's not the case that you’re expected to score runs in every match, I mean that’s not gonna happen unless you’re Virat Kohli,” Rossouw said.
Notably, Virat Kohli is leading the chart of top run-scorers in the ongoing Indian Premier League season. Initially, there were doubts about Kohli's selection in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad, as reports suggested that selectors were unhappy with his approach in the shortest format.
However, the former RCB skipper once again proved his worth, shutting down his critics with consistent performances. So far, he has amassed 661 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 155.16 and an average of 66.10.
