India skipper Rohit Sharma is quite a character both on and off the field. He never misses a chance to pull the legs of his teammates and also engages in banter with the umpires sometimes.

Rohit is currently plying his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season for Mumbai Indians (MI). While the right-handed opener was sacked as MI captain before the tournament, he has looked in great spirits right through the competition.

Ahead of MI’s match against KKR at the Eden Gardens on Saturday (May 11), a video of Rohit Sharma went viral on social media as he teased MI youngster Tilak Varma with 'garden me aaya hai' remark.

During the home Test series against England earlier this year, many of Rohit’s one-liners went viral and one of them was when he cautioned his teammates against “walking around the garden” followed by the cuss words.

"Koi bhi garden mein ghumega maa c**** dunga sabka," the stump mic caught Rohit as saying in the second Test at Vizag.

Rohit tried to recreate the moment with Tilak at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. “Aye hero, kya kar raha hai bhai? Chappal mein ghum raha hai, garden me aaya hai kya? (Aye hero, what are you doing? Wearing chappals, are you wandering in a garden?)," the former MI captain quipped.

Tilak had a cheeky reply to Rohit's comment. The southpaw said, “Hai na bhaiya, Eden Gardens (Yes, it's Eden Gardens!)”

Earlier this week, Mumbai Indians were knocked out of the IPL 2024 playoff race, marking a significant upset in this year's tournament.

MI’s ouster was confirmed after Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) demolished Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 10 wickets and 10.2 overs to spare while chasing the target of 166 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 season, Hardik Pandya, who completed a high-profile trade from Gujarat Titans (GT) to MI, replaced Rohit Sharma as skipper.

Under Hardik’s leadership, the five-time champions failed to make an impact. They have lost eight of their 12 matches in the competition so far.
