Virat Kohli hit 2 sixes and 1 four in his knock of 18 runs
RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl first. Phil Salt gave KKR a flying start in this innings, scoring 48 in 14 balls with seven fours and three sixes. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 50 runs in 36 overs, while Rinku Singh (24), Andre Russell (27*), and Ramandeep Singh (24*) helped KKR to 222/6.
In response, Virat Kohli hit Harshit Rana for a six and a four in the first over of the RCB chase. Kohli continued his glorious form and hit Mitchell Starc for a six in the next over. However, just as it looked like Kohli would shoulder the massive chase for RCB, Harshit Rana dismissed him in a controversial decision for 18 runs in 7 balls with 2 sixes and 1 four.
Rana bowled a rank full toss on the first ball of the third over. But Kohli was taken aback by the delivery and only managed to lob the ball back to Rana, who accepted a simple caught and bowled.
Immediately, Kohli asked for a review citing the height of the full toss. However, replays showed that the ball dipped below Kohli’s hip and it was a legal delivery. The TV umpire compared the height of the ball to the height of the waist of Kohli as well and deemed the ball was a fair delivery.
The decision made Virat Kohli angry a lot as he was seen having a heated discussion with the on-field umpire before walking off the field and making animated gestures. His annoyance continued in the RCB dugout as well.
