Mumbai Indians (MI) completely demolished Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 25th match of the IPL 2024. This match was played on April 11 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose that MI will bowl first. RCB, after losing three cheap wickets including Virat Kohli (3) and Glenn Maxwell (0), managed to bounce back thanks to an 82-run partnership between Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar.

Faf du Plessis (61 with four fours and three sixes) and Rajat Patidar (50 with four sixes and three fours) laid a good platform on which Dinesh Karthik took on the MI bowlers in the death. Karthik made 53* off only 23 deliveries as he propelled RCB to 196/8.

Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of MI bowlers with figures of 5/21.

In response, MI openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma took the RCB bowlers to the cleaners. Ishan Kishan led the way, scoring 69 in 34 balls, including 7 fours and 5 big sixes. He and Rohit Sharma added 101 runs for the first wicket in only 8.5 overs.

Rohit Sharma scored 38 runs in 24 balls, including three fours and three sixes, before being dismissed. But there was no respite for RCB bowlers as then Suryakumar Yadav continued to decimate them.

He slammed an eye-watering 52 in 19 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Hardik Pandya (21*) and Tilak Varma (16*) then took MI to the win with 7 wickets in 15.3 overs.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for the MI team and reserved special praise for its batting performance.
