Bumrah became the 3rd Indian and 4th overall bowler to take two fifers in IPL.
MI came into this match on the back of their first win in IPL 2024 after three straight losses. On the other hand, RCB had won only one game out of five played.

But Faf du Plessis (61 with 4 fours and 3 sixes) and Rajat Patidar (50 with 4 sixes and 3 fours) brought the RCB team back into the game with a partnership of 82 runs in 47 balls.

RCB finished their innings strongly thanks to Dinesh Karthik who hammered 53* in 23 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. RCB finished on 196/8 in 20 overs.
Amidst this carnage, MI bowler Jasprit Bumrah stood tall as he picked a five-wicket haul, his second in the IPL history. Bumrah also became only the third Indian and overall fourth bowler to pick two 5-wicket hauls in IPL.
Bumrah had started by dismissing Virat Kohli and went on pick wickets of Faf du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Saurav Chauhan, and Vijaykumar Vyshak to complete his fifer. Bumrah finished with 5/21 in his 4 overs and also got the Purple Cap for most wickets.
