IPL 2024: Cricket fraternity reacts as SRH defeats CSK at home by 6 wickets in an all-round performance

SRH hit their fastest team fifty in IPL in just 3.3 overs.

The 18^th match of the IPL 2024 saw Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) taking on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Hyderabad on April 5. Pat Cummins had won the toss and decided that SRH would bowl first.

CSK lost Rachin Ravindra for 12 runs to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. But Ruturaj Gaikwad (26) and Ajinkya Rahane (35) did well. But the best knock came from Shivam Dube as he slammed 45 in 24 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours.

Then Ravindra Jadeja made 31* in 23 balls as CSK finished with 165/5 in 20 overs. For SRH, 5 bowlers picked one wicket each.

In response, Abhishek Sharma gave SRH a blizzard-like start, slamming 37 runs in 12 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours. Travis Head (31 in 24 balls) continued the onslaught, while Aiden Markram held one end.

Markram made 50 in 36 balls, and though things got a bit tense in the end, Shahbaz Ahmed (18), Heinrich Klaasen (10*), and Nitish Reddy (14*) took SRH home with 11 balls to spare and 6 wickets in hand. Abhishek Sharma got the Player of the Match for his quick cameo.

Thanks to this win, SRH moved to the 5^th spot in the points table with 2 wins from 4 matches, while CSK remained at the 3^rd spot with 2 wins in 4 matches, but better NRR.

The cricket fraternity shared their praise for SRH’s all-round performance after they defeated CSK.
