Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a sensational seven-wicket win over the Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB) in the thrilling 10th match of the ongoing IPL 2024 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The standout performer of the match was KKR’s spin all-rounder, Sunil Narine, who celebrated his 500th T20 appearance in style by showcasing his prowess as an all-rounder against RCB.

Reflecting back on the challenges faced during the game, Narine highlighted the intensity of the powerplay overs. The West Indies star also said that the support and freedom given by the KKR helped him deliver a match-winning show for the team against the RCB.

Notably, Narine delivered a match-winning performance against RCB, smashing 47 runs off just 23 deliveries within the batting powerplay. Then, the mystery spinner finished with impressive figures of 1/40 in his 4 overs, which earned him the Player of the Match award.

Sunil Narine said during the post-match presentation: “It’s a nice milestone (on reaching 500 T20s). Hopefully 500 more to come. It’s just the self-belief and the support staff giving the encouragement. Also, the hard work.”

On his knock, Narine said: “Powerplay over is the hardest over, you just have to let that go and keep it tight. Players have full freedom to do what they want to do.”

Notably, with this win, KKR achieved the significant milestone of being the first team to win their first away game of the season. This will boost their confidence and sets a positive tone for their upcoming match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Visakhapatnam on April 3.
