CSK batted first against GT and scored 206/6.
The match is being played at Chepauk in Chennai and saw GT captain Shubman Gill winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. CSK posted 206/6 with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra both scoring 46 each. Then Shivam Dube made 51 in 23 balls and Daryl Mitchell finished well with 24*. For GT, Rashid Khan took 2/49.
Deepak Chahar gave CSK the best start, removing Shubman Gill for 8 runs and then had Wriddhiman Saha caught for 21. But the best wicket for CSK came in the form of Vijay Shankar.
On the 3rd ball of the 8th over, Shankar tried to drive a full-length ball from Mitchell but only managed to edge the ball to the right of MS Dhoni. Dhoni, 42, showed amazing agility and presence of mind as he dove full length to his right and took the catch.
