KKR's Mitchell Starc is ready to make an impact with both ball and bat in the IPL 17.
Mitchell Starc opened up about his plans to rattle the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batters when the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on the SRH in their IPL 2024 opener at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, March 23.
Ahead of the match, the Australian pacer has been actively participating in training sessions with the KKR to be ready for the world’s biggest T20 extravaganza, where he is returning after nearly 9 years.
Well, the most expensive player in IPL history, Starc, revealed that he has been particularly focused on honing his yorkers and mastering variations in pace to effectively challenge the SRH batters.

Mitchell Starc told KKR: “Just working on the new ball, old ball, getting ready for the weekend’s game, getting all my school work done. Trying to execute a few plans at the start of the innings, with the new ball, bit of death bowling in the end, few Yorkers, few variations.”
The 34-year-old Australian pacer also revealed that he has been batting in the nets, as he is aiming to contribute with the bat as well whenever he gets the opportunity with the KKR.
Starc signed off by saying, “Nice to bowl to a few of the guys, and it’s time for the bat, so trying to get the bat on a few and try and see if I can clear the boundary sometimes. If I need to in the game, then hopefully I can do that too.”
Notably, KKR signed Starc for a whopping price of INR 24.75 crores at the IPL 2024 mini-auction, so all eyes will be on the Aussie star when they take on the SRH in Kolkata.
