Stuart Broad retired from professional cricket last year after Ashes.
Former England pacer Stuart Broad opened up about his favorite team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) despite never having played in the competition once.
Broad, despite his reputation as one of the top bowlers of his generation, never made an IPL appearance. He he was signed by Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in 2011. He was bought for INR 1.84 crore in the 2011 IPL mega auction but was ruled out before the start of the season due to an injury.
On the other hand, Broad's former England teammates like Jos Buttler, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jofra Archer, among others, have been bug names in the IPL. Well, Broad named the winner of the IPL 2008, the Rajasthan Royals (RR), as his favorite team in the IPL.
Stuart Broad said in a video post by RR on X: “Generally, I try and support my friends, whoever they are playing for. I must admit Rajasthan Royals, where Jos Buttler is, and Jofra Archer who used to be. Looking like a really good franchise and I quite like the pink kit.”
Notably, the IPL 2024 is set to kick off on March 22, with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match in Chennai.
