IPL 2024: LSG appoint Nicholas Pooran as vice-captain; KL Rahul to remain captain amid injury concerns

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made a significant announcement on Thursday, February 29, unveiling West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran as their new vice-captain for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Pooran will replace Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya as the vice-captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the upcoming IPL 2024, starting on March 22.

The LSG has also reaffirmed that KL Rahul will be leading them in the upcoming 17th edition of the IPL amid speculations of him being ruled out of the season due to an injury.

Well, Rahul presented Pooran with the vice captain's jersey adorned with the number 29 at an event, as the LSG shared the picture to announce the change in the vice- captainship ahead of the IPL 17.

Hailing from Trinidad, Pooran is renowned for his explosive batting prowess and proficient wicket-keeping skills, making him a standout performer in the T20 leagues around the world.

Before LSG, Pooran represented the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL. He joined the LSG in 2023 for a staggering INR 16 crore, thanks to his impactful performances in the IPL and other franchise leagues. His aggressive batting style and ability to deliver in crucial moments make him a prized asset for the LSG.
