KKR captain Nitish Rana won the toss and chose to bat first. Despite losing two early wickets of Rahmanullah Gurbaz for a golden duck and Venkatesh Iyer for 7 runs, the team rebuilt itself.

Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Samad in the last over for 21 runs, and defended 9 runs easily with SRH winning by 5 runs, as SRH finished on 166/9 in 20 overs.
