Faf du Plessis made 84 and Virat Kohli made 59 as they added 137 runs for the 1st wicket for RCB.
Virat Kohli led the RCB team in place of Faf du Plessis, who was replaced by an impact player for the game. Sam Curran also served as the captain of PBKS because Shikhar Dhawan hasn't fully recovered from injury. Curran correctly predicted the coin toss and chose to bowl first.
While RCB remained the same, PBKS brought in Liam Livingstone and Nathan Ellis for Kagiso Rabada. RCB scored 137 runs in 16.1 overs thanks to a strong opening partnership between Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis.
While Du Plessis smashed 84 in 56 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes, Kohli was dismissed for 59 in 47 deliveries. RCB could only achieve 174/4 in 20 overs as PBKS bounced back in the death overs.
All this while Prabhsimran Singh tried his best to get some momentum in PBKS innings with 46 in 30 balls. In the end, though Jitesh Sharma (41) tried his level best, PBKS could only manage 150 in 18.2 overs.
Mohammed Siraj finished with 4/21 and Hasaranga took 2/39, while Wayne Parnell and Harshal Patel took one wicket each. Siraj was named the Player of the Match for his haul.
As RCB registered a 24-run win, Virat Kohli who captained the side after more than 500 days, celebrated in joy with his teammates.
