RCB batted first after losing the toss and posted 212/4.
KL Rahul, the LSG captain won the toss and decided to chase. However, Virat Kohli took full advantage of powerplay and scored 61 in 44 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes to his name. He also added 96 runs with captain Faf du Plessis in 11.3 overs.
While Kohli fell to Amit Mishra, Glenn Maxwell joined in the fun and hammered 59 in 29 balls with 6 sixes and 3 fours himself. But it was the RCB skipper Faf du Plessis who hogged the limelight in six hitting, as he smashed Ravi Bishnoi for a monster six which went out of the ground.
It happened in the 15th over of the game when Lucknow leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi dropped it short against Du Plessis, who rocked back onto the backfoot and pulled the ball clear over long on, straight over the Chinnaswamy roof for a monstrous 115m six.
That was surely one of his longest sixes ever in his IPL career.
What made the shot even better was the hilarious reaction from his batting partner Glenn Maxwell, who was left stunned and could only laugh while applauding the shot.
Kohli, who was sitting the dug out, was completely shell shocked and was seen saying "I couldn't have hit that far" to his RCB mate.
Faf finished 79* in 46 balls with 5 fours and as many sixes.
