Dhoni's craze is on a different level among the cricket fans in Chennai.
The 41-year-old is once again gearing up to lead CSK in the IPL this year. With the COVID-19 pandemic now on decline, the tournament will go back to the home-and-away format from this season and CSK will play their first home match at Chepauk on April 3 against the Lucknow Super Giants.
Meanwhile, Dhoni is currently practicing hard at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and several videos of his training are doing rounds on social media.
On Tuesday (March 28), CSK posted a video of Dhoni’s batting practice which was attended by a capacity crowd. Amid the loud cheers, the Super Kings skipper flexed his muscles and sent balls into the stands.
In the same clip, CSK’s batting coach Mike Hussey can be seen reacting to the crowd going bonkers when Dhoni smashed the ball out of the park.
The four-time IPL champions captured the fans’ emotions beautifully through a drone and captioned the video as, “Hussey’s reaction at the end sums up the".
CSK will open their IPL 2023 campaign against the defending champions Gujarat Titans in the tournament opener on March 31.
