IPL 2023: COC Predicted best playing XI for Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

MS Dhoni will captain CSK in IPL 2023.

The four-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be back playing at their home ground of Chepauk in this IPL 2023 as the tournament goes back to home and away format.

CSK will also open the IPL 2023 tournament with a match against the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Many fans and experts have also speculated this season might be CSK captain MS Dhoni’s last appearance in the IPL tournament.

Meanwhile, CSK’s biggest buy at the IPL 2023 auction was England’s Ben Stokes for INR 16.25 crores. Though they had bought Kyle Jamieson as well, he was ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to the reoccurrence of his back stress fracture and was replaced by Sisanda Magala.

Keeping this in mind, here is the COC predicted best playing XI for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK in IPL 2023.

Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad forged a terrific opening partnership that has benefitted CSK a lot. Having Ben Stokes in the XI now means a lengthy batting lineup for the MS Dhoni-led side. They can also opt for the left-handed option of Moeen Ali to go with if they want a spin-bowling all-rounder, instead of Stokes.

They also have the option of choosing from Ambati Rayudu or Ajinkya Rahane as the anchor for their innings, after which their firepower with the bat comes in with the likes of Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni, and Ravindra Jadeja wielding the willow with the ability to go berserk in the death overs.

As for the spin department of CSK, they have a variety to choose from to partner with Ravindra Jadeja. They have Mitchell Santner, Maheesh Theekshana, and Prashant Solanki.

As for the pace department, despite losing the services of Jamieson, CSK has welcomed back Deepak Chahar, who is fit and raring to go. He might get support from Rajvardhan Hangargekar or Simarjeet Singh and either Dwaine Pretorius or Sisanda Magala.

CSK also has the Lasith Malinga jr. in Matheesha Pathirana to choose from.  Overall, they have a pretty good squad to choose from, and given a smart captain like MS Dhoni, expect the yellow army to do a lot better than their IPL 2022 outcome.
