IPL 2023: WATCH- RCB captain Faf du Plessis excited to play in front of a packed stadium in Bengaluru

RCB will kickstart its IPL 16 campaign against MI on April 2 in Bangaluru.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis joined the RCB camp ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), starting on Friday (March 31).

The South African star expressed his happiness after reaching Bengaluru for the IPL 2023. As the IPL is set to return to its original home and away format, the RCB skipper is excited to play in front of the home crowd at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Faf du Plessis said in a video posted by RCB on their social media:It's great to be back in Bangalore. I didn't really get to experience the home crowd last season. I’m really really excited for this year because I will be playing in front of a packed stadium. I am really looking forward to that.”

The RCB skipper added, “SA League was the last competition that we played. Hopefully, I can hit the ground running again.”

Du Plessis also revealed that he had been in touch with the key RCB players and the coaches following the conclusion of the last season.

He said, “I think it's important just to touch base with some of the overseas players, especially where they are in the world, how are they doing and how are their bodies doing? Obviously, the coaching staff as well-being in touch with them.”

The skipper signed off by saying, “A couple of young niggles in the team, we're just trying to make sure we work our way through that. We've been joining nice and early so it's nice for everyone to spend some time together as a team before the competition starts.”

Notably, the RCB will kickstart its IPL 16 campaign against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 2 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
