Match 64 of the IPL 2022 will see the Punjab Kings (PBKS) taking on the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the DY Patil Stadium on May 16, 2022. The winner of this match will move into the top four, while the loser’s road to playoffs will get more difficult.

DC is in 5th spot on the points table with 12 points from 12 matches and needs to win both of their remaining matches. PBKS, on the other hand, are 7th on the points table, with same number of points from 12 matches. But DC has the advantage of a very good net run rate, which gives them the edge.

Keeping this in mind, here is the COC predicted playing XIs for the PBKS v DC match.

PUNJAB KINGS

Punjab Kings have finally found a working playing XI, though a bit late in the tournament. Their batting has been very good with Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa giving them blistering results with the bat.

Shikhar Dhawan has been playing the anchoring role, while Mayank Agarwal has struggled to find form. Jitesh Sharma has impressed everyone with his finishing abilities.

The bowling department sees Rishi Dhawan handling the fifth bowler responsibilities well and the addition of Harpreet Brar has not only provided Rahul Chahar with some assistance but also lengthened the batting order.

Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh have been excellent both with the new ball and the old ball. PBKS will be looking forward to putting their best performance to remain in contention for the playoffs.

DELHI CAPITALS

Delhi Capitals have remained in contention while strengthening their net run rate after a crushing win over Rajasthan Royals in their previous match.

Though Prithvi Shaw has been discharged from the hospital after a bout of typhoid, it is expected that KS Bharat and David Warner might continue to open the batting despite Bharat not being able to contribute much.

Mitchell Marsh has been in excellent form, while Rishabh Pant has done well without being exceptional with the bat. He has captained nicely and kept exceedingly well. Rovman Powell finally found his groove with the bat and has been finishing well.

Lalit Yadav has managed to hold onto his place without doing much while Akshar Patel has not done much of note in this tournament. Kuldeep Yadav has been excellent but has struggled a bit in the last few matches.

Shardul Thakur and Anrich Nortje have been unable to leave an impact but Pant will expect them to come good in this crunch match. Chetan Sakariya might hold onto his place in the XI thanks to his good performance thus far.

PBKS COC Predicted Playing XI:

Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Mayank Agarwal (C), Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Harpreet Brar, Rishi Dhawan, Rahul Chahar, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh
