Jadeja had missed the DC game after getting injured against RCB.
He missed the last match of CSK against the Delhi Capitals (DC), as he had suffered a rib injury while fielding during CSK’s loss to the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
For Jadeja, this has been a season to forget so far. In 10 matches, he has only scored 116 runs and taken 5 wickets, and none were close to being match-winning figures.
The CSK camp assessed his injury for the last couple of days but it hasn't exactly gotten better. Now with the tournament reaching its business end and CSK to take on Mumbai Indians on Thursday, the team management may not risk him any further.
This is also sound thinking from management as CSK may well be knocked out if either RCB or Rajasthan Royals manage to win one more game and reach 16 points doesn't give the team too much hope.
CSK, if they win their next three games, can reach a maximum of 14 points. Gujarat Titans have already qualified for playoffs with 18 points, while Lucknow Super Giants have 16 points to their name and are one win away from qualifying themselves.
