The Delhi Capitals (DC) clashed with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 19th match of the ongoing IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. KKR came into this match with 3 wins from 4 matches, leading the points table, while DC is placed 7th with 1 win from 3 games.

Shreyas Iyer of KKR won the toss against his former franchise DC and elected to bowl first. Prithvi Shaw (51) and David Warner (61) added 93 runs for the opening wicket in just 8.4 overs. Rishabh Pant promoted himself to no.3 and added a quick 27 runs.

Sunil Narine then pegged back the scoring somewhat by dismissing Lalit Yadav and Rovman Powell, leaving DC 161/4 in 15 overs. But Shardul Thakur and Akshar Patel came together to power DC to an imposing final total.

Akshar remained not out on 22 in 14 balls with 2 fours and 1 six, while Shardul made 29* in 11 balls with 3 sixes and 1 four, as DC finished on 215/5 in 20 overs. Sunil Narine was the best KKR bowler with 2/21 in his 4 overs.

However, many experts and cricket fans noticed that batter Sarfaraz Khan, who came in at no.5 against Lucknow Super Giants in their last match and made 36* in 28 balls, was not given a chance to bat and showcase his hitting abilities.

This became a point of discussion on Twitter and many fans and experts alike shared their views on Sarfaraz Khan failing to get a bat against KKR.
