Former India opener Wasim Jaffer announced his departure from the Indian Premier League franchise (IPL) Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a hilarious manner, by posting a message along with a meme from a Ranbir Kapoor movie.

Jaffer has been part of the PBKS support staff as batting coach since 2019, during the year, when he had become the first player to feature in 150 Ranji matches. He had joined Anil Kumble, who was the director of cricket operations and head coach at the franchise. PBKS also has Damien Wright as bowling coach and Jonty Rhodes as fielding coach.

Wasim Jaffer has himself been part of the IPL when he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the inaugural edition of the league in 2008. Wasim then scored mere 115 runs in six matches at 19.16.

Adios, and thank you @PunjabKingsIPL, it's been a pleasure. Wishing @anilkumble1074 and the team very best for #IPL2022,” Jaffer tweeted.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the marvelous Wasim Jaffer.
