SHIKHAR DHAWAN (Base Price- INR 2 crores, marquee player)

Veteran left-handed batter Shikhar Dhawan had done amazingly well for the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise in the past couple of IPL seasons, including becoming the first batter to hit back-to-back centuries in the history of the IPL during the 2020 edition.

Shikhar is the second-highest all-time run-getter in the IPL history, with 5784 runs in 192 matches with 2 centuries and 44 half-centuries to his name. He averages 34.84 and has a strike rate of 126.44. Dhawan has the record for hitting most fours in IPL- 654.

He is a reliable batter at the top, a brilliant fielder anywhere, especially in slips and the outfield, and can help the captain given his history of leading teams in the IPL and India as well.

He has put his base price as INR 2 crores and is placed in the marquee list of players and with franchises looking for impactful openers, expect Dhawan to get a huge bid in the IPL 2022 mega auction given that he still has a lot to give as he is super fit as well.

DEEPAK CHAHAR (Base Price- INR 2 crores)

Deepak Chahar pushed his way into the Indian team in white-ball formats thanks to his amazing performance in domestic cricket and for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. His association with MS Dhoni goes back to the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise and then for the CSK, the duo created magic.

Chahar’s ability to make an impact in the powerplay overs by picking wickets made him a must-have asset and hence when the Chennai franchise didn’t decide to retain him ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, it came as a huge surprise, given that he has shown immense talent with the bat as well.

The Rajasthan T20 captain has put his base price at INR 2 crores and given his talent and impact thus far in the Indian Premier League and for India with the white-ball, expect Deepak Chahar to cause a bidding war and there is a chance that CSK might get him back in the auction with a hefty bid.

YUZVENDRA CHAHAL (Base Price- INR 2 crores)

Yuzvendra Chahal had made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians, but the fame he got came during his tenure with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. His performances for the Virat Kohli-led franchise, especially on the small ground like M Chinnaswamy Stadium, helped him make his white-ball debut for India as well.

IPL 2022: Yuzvendra Chahal wants to play for RCB again but ready to go to any team

Chahal enjoyed much praise and love from fans during his time in RCB, but the last couple of years have been hard on him, as he lost his form and spot in the Indian team. Therefore, it was not a surprise that RCB decided not to retain him ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

But with leg-spinners being seen as match-winning bowlers in the T20 format, expect RCB and many other franchises to bid heavily on Chahal. Even the two new franchises, especially Ahmedabad one will be highly interested in the Haryana tweaker, as the Motera pitch is tailor-made for spinners.

ISHAN KISHAN (Base Price- INR 2 crores)

It would have been a tough task for the Mumbai Indians to let go of the young and dashing Ishan Kishan ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, given that he was their highest run-getter in IPL 2020 and hit the most sixes in the edition as well.

This led to him making his India debut in white-ball formats and he made an immediate impact in both T20Is and ODIs. He scored half-centuries on debut in both formats and has impressed everyone with his nonchalant and fearless way of batting.

The Indian team management has earmarked Kishan as an opener and he will be seen in the upcoming limited-overs series against the West Indies.

Ishan Kishan has scored his run in the IPL at a strike rate of 136.34 and has hit 74 sixes and 121 fours thus far in 56 matches. It is widely expected that all the franchises in the IPL will bid heavily for him, given that they not only get a gun opener and a terrific wicketkeeper, they also get a potential captain for the future, given that Kishan has captained Jharkhand and India U19 in the past.

SHREYAS IYER (Base Price- INR 2 crores, marquee player)

However, the biggest expectation of any Indian player triggering a massive bidding war is Shreyas Iyer. The former Delhi Capitals captain parted ways with the franchise when they decided to go with Rishabh Pant as their skipper going forward and Iyer was eyeing a captaincy role.

Well, he is a proven leader in the IPL, helping DC reach their maiden IPL final in the 2020 edition after helping them qualify for the playoffs for the first time in many years in IPL 2019.

IPL 2022: RCB, KKR, PBKS keen on signing Shreyas Iyer at the mega auction, says report

There are three franchises in KKR, PBKS, and RCB looking for a captain and Shreyas Iyer fits the bill perfectly. He is an amazing batter in the top order and a gun fielder with great leadership qualities.

The right-hander from Mumbai has put his base price at INR 2 crores and has been placed in the marquee players’ list, giving franchisees the first go at placing the highest bid for his services in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
