IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians (MI) - list of retained players

Mumbai Indians retained four players.

November 30th saw the final announcement of retained players by each of the original eight franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. Two new teams will make their debut as well, making the upcoming IPL edition a 10-team competition.

As per BCCI rules, each team is allowed to retain a maximum of four players. These can be in two different combinations while picking their four players to retain: three Indians and one overseas, or two Indians and two overseas. The three Indians retained by franchises can all be capped, all uncapped or a mix of both.

Mumbai Indians (MI), the five-time IPL champions have many star players to choose from to retain. However, given the situation and talent in hand, MI confirmed the retention of captain Rohit Sharma for INR 16 crores and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for INR (12 crores). 

MI also retained Kieron Pollard (INR 6 crores) and maverick batter Suryakumar Yadav (INR 8 crores) for the upcoming IPL 2022 season. 

With these retentions, MI will have INR 48 crores in purse at the IPL 2022 auction.
