Delhi Capitals (DC) registered yet another clinical win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their IPL 2021 campaign to take the top spot on the points table yet again. While RR managed to restrict DC to 154/6, the former lost the game by 33 runs.

RR skipper Samson stayed unbeaten on 70 (53) but no other batter apart from Mahipal Lomror (19) crossed the double-digit mark. After the match, Samson talked about how he believed RR had quality batters to chase DC’s total down.

A target of 155 with the quality of batsmen we have, I thought it was chaseable. We had the batting to go after it. I think we will come back stronger in the next game,” Samson said in the post-match presentation.

IPL 2021: Kumar Sangakkara slams RR batters’ careless approach after failing to chase 154 against DC

The emotions are on the higher side, we'll think about it tomorrow morning. The pitch was not that slow. It was holding up, but if we had a few wickets in hand we could have got the over the line,” the right-hand batter added.

This was the first instance of the RR captain Samson remaining not-out and the team failing to get over the line. Whereas, Rishabh Pant's DC produced yet another superb win in match 36 of IPL 2021 and got back to the top of the table.

As far as the Rajasthan-based franchise is concerned, they find themselves currently at the sixth spot. The Sanju Samson and his men will be taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) next on Monday (26 September) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
