This was Samson's second consecutive fine for slow over-rate.
It was a tough day for Samson as his team succumbed to a 33-run defeat chasing 155 runs. The wicketkeeper-batsman fought a lone battle and scored an unbeaten 70 of 53 balls with no support from others.
"As it was the team's second offense of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson was fined Rs 24 lakh. The rest of the members of the playing XI were each fined lesser of either Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of their individual match fee," said a release from the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sanju Samson has been fined for the second consecutive time for slow over-rate. He now faces a threat of suspension of one match if the team repeats the offence again. The RR captain was fined Rs. 12 lakhs after their thrilling two-run win against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dubai on Tuesday.
RR take on a struggling Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday.
