In response, Prithvi Shaw got DC off to a flying start as he whacked Shivam Mavi for six consecutive fours in the first over.
Shaw continued his domination on other KKR bowlers as well to take the Capitals to 67/0 in the first powerplay. He completed his half-century in just 18 deliveries and added 132 runs for the opening wicket with Shikhar Dhawan.
Pat Cummins drew the first blood for KKR as he dismissed Dhawan on 47-ball 46 in the 14th over. Two overs later, Cummins also removed Shaw (82 off 41 balls; 11 fours and 3 sixes) and Rishabh Pant (16 off 8 balls) but the match was done by then.
In the end, Marcus Stoinis (6*) and Shimron Hetmyer (0*) completed the formalities and took DC over the line with 7 wickets in hand and 21 balls to spare.
