Pant led his side to yet another win of their IPL 2021 campaign.
As DC registered their third victory under their newly appointed skipper Rishabh Pant, the wicket-keeper batsman gave an insight into his style of captaincy and how he has been benefitted by having legendary Australian skipper Ricky Ponting on his side.
“I think, yes, as a wicketkeeper I keep on reading the game and it helps me a lot. With seniors around and Ricky Ponting in our management, I think my captaincy is going great,” Pant told ANI.
DC played its first three matches at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and then had to travel to Chennai for the next leg of the tournament.
IPL 2021: Lalit Yadav is a great player and we're looking to groom him, says DC skipper Rishabh Pant
When asked about traveling in current times, the southpaw said, “I think it’s slightly challenging because of COVID. But as a team, we are not focusing on outside things. BCCI has done really well to give us a good bubble and traveling thing. We are focusing more on cricket.”
While talking about match-ups in cricket, the explosive batsman said, “As a player, you do not focus much on match-ups. Every day is a new day, I had to go for my shots because we were chasing, so you need to focus more on scenarios as compared to matchups.”
After the win over five-time champions, the Delhi-based franchise will be taking on David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday (25 April) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
