Delhi Capitals chased down Mumbai Indians' 137/9 with 5 balls to spare.
Opting to bat first, MI posted 137/9 in 20 overs. It was a below-par batting performance from the defending champions as none of them except for skipper Rohit Sharma (44 off 30 balls) managed to touch the 30-run mark.
Leg-spinner Amit Mishra was the stand-out bowler for DC, claiming 4 wickets by conceding 24 runs in his four overs. Avesh Khan (2-15) also returned with brilliant figures in his two overs.
Defending the total, Mumbai bowlers fought brilliantly but DC managed to get over the line with 6 wickets in hand and five balls to spare.
Shikhar Dhawan once again top-scored for the Capitals with 42-ball 45 while Steve Smith (33 off 29 balls), Lalit Yadav (22* off 25 balls) and Shimron Hetmyer (14* off 9 balls) played handy knocks.
For MI, Jayant Yadav (1-25), Rahul Chahar (1-29), Trent Boult (0-23) bowled impressive spells.
