Shaw smashed 72 off 38 balls while chasing CSK's target of 189.
While chasing CSK’s 188/7, Shaw provided DC with a fabulous start as he smashed 72 off 38 balls and added 138 runs for the opening wicket with Shikhar Dhawan.
Praising his knock, Sehwag tweeted, “A good day for us”, referring to India head coach Ravi Shastri’s comment that he sees glimpses of Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara in Shaw’s style of batting.
During his debut Test series against West Indies in 2018, Prithvi Shaw had smashed 237 runs in two games and left a lasting impression on Shastri.
"He (Shaw) is born to play cricket. He's been playing since the age of eight in the maidans of Mumbai. You can see all that hardwork showing. He's a spectator's delight. There's a bit of Sachin there, a bit of Viru in him and when he walks - there's a bit of Lara as well," Shastri had said back then.
