IPL 2021: Pat Cummins says he loved playing under aggressive captain Gautam Gambhir in IPL 2014

Cummins said his favorite moment was seeing thousands of fans on streets.

Ace Australian pacer Pat Cummins while lauding former KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir for his aggressive captaincy said that he enjoyed playing under the latter’s captaincy during IPL 2014. 

Taking over Kolkata Knight Riders’ captaincy in the year 2011, Gautam Gambhir has played a massive role in making the franchise successful.

In IPL 2012, Gambhir made history as he led Kolkata Knight Riders to their first title win by beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final, and then later in IPL 2014, he made sure that his team stood on the Champions podium for the second time as they beat Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the final.

However, ace Australian pacer Pat Cummins, who was also part of KKR’s title-winning team in 2011, said that his favorite IPL moment was winning tile with KKR in 2014. He added that he enjoyed playing under Gautam Gambhir as he was aggressive in his captaincy. 

"Favourite moment was my first IPL in 2014 with Kolkata winning the title and then going to next day and see hundreds of thousands of fans on street going crazy. Enjoyed playing under GG (Gautam Gambhir) he was always really aggressive as a captain which I loved," Pat Cummins said in a video posted on his Instagram story. 

Replying to the other question which read “which bowler does he likes to watch” Pat Cummins said that:

"I like watching Bumrah bowl and in KKR youngster Kamlesh Nagarkoti,” he said.

Pat Cummins was roped in once again by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2020 at a huge price of INR 15.5 crores. The pacer ended up talking 12 wickets in IPL 13. 

IPL 2021 will kick start from 9th April and KKR will begin their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 11th April.
