West Indies legend Brian Lara, part of the official broadcasters' panel, heaped praise on the Mumbai Indians after the franchise clinched its record fifth IPL 2020 title on Tuesday (November 10).

Rohit Sharma and his team excelled in all departments and left no stone unturned to outclass Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets in the final of the 13th edition of the IPL, to script history in Dubai by winning its fifth and back-to-back IPL title on Tuesday.

After MI’s record win over DC, Lara showered praise on the franchise, saying Mumbai Indians are an unbelievable team and there is no other franchise in the world that can play like Mumbai.

Expressing delight at MI's triumph, Lara further said it is continuity which has made the MI special while hailing the team as one of the best in the world of franchise cricket.

Lara said on Star Sports, “They are an unbelievable team. If they are not at the top, they are very close to the top. I think there is no franchise in the world that can play cricket like Mumbai Indians.”

The legendary cricketer further added, “I think it’s the continuity (that makes MI special). They have got players who have been there for some time. At some point of time, you obviously tend to think about changes, but they have continuity. They back certain players, they have been around for 5 championship titles. That’s been the key for them.”

He signed off by saying, “When I look at them, from the very beginning, what I like is the storyline. For every scene, they have got a character. When they have trouble up front, they have got Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan. They have got the big-hitters in Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya and the pace attack.”
