Trent Boult claimed three wickets for the Mumbai Indians.
DC skipper Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first after winning the toss and his decision turned out to be disastrous one, as the team lost Marcus Stoinis, Shikhar Dhawan, and Ajinkya Rahane with just 22 runs on the board.
While Trent Boult dismissed Stoinis (0) and Rahane (2) cheaply, Jayant Yadav got rid of Dhawan for 15.
Afterwards, Iyer and Rishabh Pant joined hands and shared a 96-run stand for the fourth wicket to bail Delhi out of trouble.
Nathan Coulter-Nile broke the partnership by removing Pant for 38-ball 56 (4 fours and 2 sixes) in the 15th over.
In the death overs, MI bowlers made a comeback as they conceded only 38 runs and picked up 4 wickets to restrict DC to 156/7.
Captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 50-ball 65 for Delhi whereas Trent Boult (3-30) and Coulter-Nile (2-29) returned with impressive bowling figures for Mumbai.
Cricket experts took to Twitter and lauded the top performers from both sides after the first half of the final.
