The 49th match of the IPL 2020 will see Chennai Super Kings (CSK) facing off against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Dubai on October 29, 2020. CSK have been eliminated from the playoffs' race, while KKR is on the brink themselves, as a loss to CSK here, coupled with their poor NRR, might result in their elimination as well.

While CSK will look to give chances to their fringe players who have been warming the bench, KKR needs to pick the players who will win them this crucial match. Therefore, TEAM COC presents to you the Predicted Playing XIs for the CSK v KKR match.

IPL 2020: Match 49, CSK v KKR - Statistical Preview of the Match

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS (CSK)

Chennai Super Kings will be going into this match with no baggage or tension of qualification haunting them. They have been eliminated from the playoff’s race and will be looking forward to giving matches to their players who have warmed the bench until now.

Last game, they brought in Ruturaj Gaikwad, N Jagadeesan, and Monu Kumar along with Mitchell Santner in the playing XI and Ruturaj hit a wonderful fifty to guide the team to a win over RCB. This time, CSK might give a chance to K Asif in place of Monu Kumar to give the pacer a game here.

IPL 2020: "One bad season doesn't make 'match-winner' Dhoni a bad leader," says Anjum Chopra

Batting-wise, Ambati Rayudu, Faf du Plessis, Sam Curran, and Ravindra Jadeja have done tremendously well, while MS Dhoni had a lean IPL 2020 with the willow. His captaincy also lacked some sharpness, but nevertheless, it was a disappointing season for the yellow army. They can only look to win their remaining matches and end the IPL 13 on a high.

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS (KKR)

KKR are basically feeling the heat because of their own fault. They lost a few matches that they should have won and some of the wins were very close, which resulted in them having a very poor net run rate (NRR).

Despite possessing one of the best batting lineups in the tournament, KKR has failed to utilize them properly. Dinesh Karthik, the former captain has been a disappointment with the bat, while Shubman Gill’s consistency has come at the cost of his strike-rate. Tripathi and Morgan have been good but in patches.

IPL 2020: Shubman Gill "pretty confident" KKR will qualify for IPL 13 playoffsThis, along with Andre Russell’s failure with the willow and his fitness has left KKR staring down the barrel of elimination.

The introduction of Lockie Ferguson has given a new lease of life to KKR’s bowling, while Pat Cummins hasn’t had the level of impact that was expected from him and given his price tag. Varun Chakravarthy has been the lone impressive bowler as both Kuldeep and Narine have failed to make an impact in IPL 2020 for various reasons.

This is a match, KKR needs to win in order to stay in the race of playoffs and they need to do everything they can in order to do so.
