IPL 2020: Cricket fraternity reacts as all-round Delhi Capitals thrash Rajasthan Royals by 46 runs

Capitals bowled out Royals for 138 after posting 184 on the board.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 23rd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at Sharjah on Friday (October 9).

Asked to bat first, DC posted 184/8 on the board with notable contributions from Shimron Hetmyer (45 off 24 balls) and Marcus Stoinis (39 off 30 balls).

Jofra Archer was the stand-out bowler for RR, claiming 3 wickets by conceding 24 runs in his four overs.

Defending the total, Capitals bundled out Royals for 138 in 19.4 overs, with Kagiso Rabada (3-35), Ravichandran Ashwin (2-22) and Stoinis (2-17) doing the bulk of the damage.

It was a listless batting performance from RR as none of the batsmen managed to cross the 40-run mark. Rahul Tewatia was the top-scorer with 29-ball 38.

Cricket experts took to Twitter and lauded Delhi Capitals’ dominant showing over Rajasthan Royals in all departments.

Minor heroics from Tewatia apart, this was an overwhelming win for Delhi. Dominated Rajasthan in all departments. i’d compliment bowling and fielding more than batting. Pitch was good, Rajasthan were made to struggle because DC bowlers probed constantly and catching was superb
