Iyer and Akshar both were in splits as soon as he completed the translation.
Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 59 runs and captain Shreyas Iyer was in a light mood. Iyer, being cheeky in the post-match presentation, tried to jokingly self-praise.
After DC's fourth win in IPL 2020, Spinner Akshar Patel was awarded Man of the Match for his 2/18 against RCB, and he took Iyer with him to translate his words while receiving the award.
While Iyer did translate everything Akshar said accurately, he also added that the spinner is thanking his captain for the performance, which obviously wasn't right. As soon as Shreyas completed saying it, both the cricketers burst into laughter.

Iyer might be joking here, but during an interview, Akshar had acknowledged that his presence helped him do well in Delhi Capitals. “I’ve played with Shreyas at India A also, and when I came to Delhi Capitals, it was really easy for me because we bond really well.
"On the field, he gives freedom to his bowlers and lets you adjust the fields. He is quite patient as well, and I have really enjoyed playing under him,” he said.
