The 17th match of the IPL 2020 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) proved to be an interesting one as it was both decently high scoring and MI managed to defend their total of 208/5.

MI had batted first after winning the toss and 67 from Quinton de Kock and valuable contributions from the Pandya brothers, which included Krunal hitting 20 runs from 4 balls and Pollard’s 25*, enabled MI to put forth a formidable target for SRH.

In reply, Jonny Bairstow hit a quick-fire 25, and then Manish Pandey made 30 in 19 balls. But it looked like captain David Warner, who made 60 in 44 balls will take them through. However, Trent Boult (2/28) and James Pattinson (2/29) halted that progress with wickets at crucial moments. Williamson and Garg made single-digit scores, giving MI an opening.

Abdul Samad tried to bring SRH back into the game with his 9-ball 20, but Bumrah struck back with his wicket and Abhishek Sharma’s to end any hope of a comeback. With SRH needing 37 runs to win in the last over, Pollard managed to give away just 2 runs and MI won the match by 34 runs.

The cricket fraternity lauded brilliance by MI bowlers especially Boult and Pattinson and top-notch captaincy by Rohit Sharma as well. They took to Twitter in order laud a great win for MI and we have some of the best tweets for you.
