The 13th match of the IPL 2020 will see Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) taking on the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on October 1, 2020. Both the teams have played three matches each and won one game apiece and will be looking to get another victory under the belt to get some momentum going.

To do that, both MI and KXIP need to pick the best side possible from amongst the incredible talent they have, and hence, Team COC presents the Predicted Playing XIs for both KXIP and MI for the upcoming match.

KINGS XI PUNJAB (KXIP)

The KXIP team has tried out a few players in their previous matches in the IPL 2020, but over the past encounter, they have seemed to get the combo right with KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal leading from the front. The loss against RR can be put to the fact that in T20 anyone can win despite making any number of runs if the luck belongs to them.

Apart from the openers mentioned Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Maxwell have shown their capacity to destroy bowling attacks in a few cameos. Sarfaraz Khan and Jimmy Neesham are biding their time before they also get to showcase their batting abilities.

KXIP might not go for any change in the upcoming match against Mumbai Indians, given that they have found a good combination.

Sheldon Cottrell had just a bad over against RR, while Mohammad Shami is dependable as well and the two are quite adept at bowling at the start and in the death as well. However, the trump card for KXIP is the spinners Ravi Bishnoi and M Ashwin, both of whom have bowled amazingly well in tandem with each other during the middle overs.

MUMBAI INDIANS (MI)

Mumbai Indians had a huge heartbreak against RCB in the tied match, which they lost in super over. However, they got a huge positive in the match in form of Ishan Kishan, who smacked a brilliant 99 and thoroughly deserved a century.

Their openers Rohit and De Kock are yet to fire in together, something that is a bit worrying for them, but Suryakumar has backed them up well. The trio of facing the Pandya brothers and Pollard in the death overs is quite intimidating for any bowler.

However, with Hardik Pandya not bowling, Rohit Sharma might try to invest in another spinner to aid Krunal and Rahul Chahar, who have done well in their own right. James Pattinson has done his job though MI would like a few more wickets from him. Trent Boult has been amazing at the start getting the white new ball to swing.

However, the performance of Jasprit Bumrah has been a concern for MI as he has figures of 3/117 from his full quota of overs in the last three matches and this doesn’t include the super over he bowled against RCB. With Malinga not there, MI has a lot riding on the success of Bumrah and he looks rusty and they need him to get back into top form quickly.
