KKR chased down SRH's target of 143 with two overs to spare.
Opting to bat first, SRH posted a modest 142/4 in 20 overs on the back of Manish Pandey’s 38-ball 51 and skipper David Warner’s 30-ball 36.
For KKR, Pat Cummins was the stand-out bowler, claiming one wicket by conceding just 19 runs in his four overs. Varun Chakravarthy (1-25) and Sunil Narine (0-31) also did a fine job with the ball.
In reply, Knight Riders lost Sunil Narine for a duck but his opening partner Shubman Gill held the one end firmly. Gill added 37 runs for the second wicket with Nitish Rana (26 off 13 balls) to steady the ship but KKR lost the latter and captain Dinesh Karthik (0) in quick succession.
Afterwards, Gill joined hands with the experienced Eoin Morgan at the crease and the pair forged a match-winning partnership of 92 runs to see KKR over the line with two overs to spare.
While Gill remained unbeaten on 62-ball 70, Morgan finished with 42 not out off 29 deliveries.
Cricket experts were quite impressed with Shubman Gill’s classy knock which ensured KKR’s first victory in this year’s IPL.
