The seventh match of the IPL 2020 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) going against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Dubai. CSK has won one and lost one out of the two matches they played, while DC tied their tournament opener against KXIP, but won the super over.

MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first. Josh Hazlewood made his IPL debut in place of Lungi Ngidi. DC brought in Amit Mishra and Avesh Khan for R Ashwin and Mohit Sharma.

Shikhar Dhawan (35) and Prithvi Shaw (64) added 94 runs in 10.4 overs at the start. But Piyush Chawla removed both the openers, while Shreyas Iyer was dismissed by Sam Curran as Delhi Capitals ended up making 175/3 in 20 overs.

Chawla picked 2/33, while Curran got 1/27 as well.

The talking point of the match apart from Pant’s batting was MS Dhoni’s amazing catch behind the wickets to remove his counterpart, Iyer. Sam Curran bowled a slower off outside off stump, which caught the outside edge of Iyer’s bat and 39-year-old Dhoni made a full-on dive and the ball stuck to his right glove and he safely pouched it while hitting the ground.
