Starc last IPL appearance was in 2015 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Moreover, the apex body postponed the Women’s ODI World Cup 2021, due to be played in New Zealand, to February-March 2022.
Amid the recent development, Australia’s star women cricketer Alyssa Healy took to Twitter and expressed her shock that the next year’s Women’s ODI World Cup got postponed despite New Zealand having only 23 active COVID-19 cases.

Commenting on Healy’s tweet, an Indian cricket fan wrote her husband and Australian speedster Mitchell Starc won't get IPL contract now.
In reply, Alyssa sarcastically wrote: “Oh no! How ever will he manage...”
It is worth mentioning here that Starc won’t feature in this year’s IPL, slated to be held in UAE from September 19 to November 19. Notably, the left-arm pacer hadn't put his name up for auction, expecting excessive workload in normal circumstances.
His last appearance in the cash-rich tournament came in 2015 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
