Just like any IPL playing XI, Jaffer went with the composition of four overseas and seven Indians cricketers. He picked CSK skipper MS Dhoni as the leader of the star-studded line-up, which includes Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Rashid Khan and Lasith Malinga as four foreign players.

Among other Indians, Rohit Sharma was selected to open the innings alongside Gayle followed by Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli. All-rounder Hardik Pandya also features in the XI and is slotted in the batting order after Dhoni and Russell.

Besides Rashid, Ravichandran Ashwin is another premier spinner in the team while Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah will look after the fast bowling department.

Taking to Twitter, Jaffer posted his team in which Ravindra Jadeja is the 12th man.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all sporting action across the world had been stopped including the 13th edition of the IPL. The tournament has been suspended till April 15.

The country is under 21-day lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24 in a bid to stop the spread of the deadly virus that has a global impact.
